Changelog
What changed in Forge World, newest first. Changes to what the validator accepts or what a rendered mod contains are listed here; the contract always describes the current format.
2026-10-22
- Anomalies spawn for everyone. Rendered anomalies wrongly required the Ancient Relics story pack, so players without it never saw them. Only archaeological sites need it now. Render again to pick this up.
- Anomaly and site descriptions come from your event text. The description the game shows
for an anomaly or a dig site, before its event fires, used the event's
notes. It now uses the first paragraph of the event's description, andnotesstay yours alone, as the contract says.
2026-10-21
- Render warnings. A bundle that renders with warnings shows them beside the download link instead of downloading silently. A clean render still downloads at once.
- Duplicate titles. The validator warns when two events share a title; in game they're hard to tell apart.
2026-10-20
- The contract page's own addresses are links.
- Pages show a preview card when shared.
2026-10-19
- New effects:
opinion_change(how every empire regards you),create_project(a research project whose completion fires an event) andspawn_fleet(new ships at your capital). Every effect now has an in-game tooltip. - A warning for events that never fire: a
triggered_onlyevent nothing in the bundle triggers. - The YAML contract is published at /contract, as Markdown at /contract.md and indexed for language-model tools at /llms.txt.
- Renderer fixes: artifact amounts and planet modifiers render as written, resources and
tech areas the game doesn't have are rejected, and
add_depositis limited to anomalies. - Forge World opens at forgeworld.app: validate, render, and the ebook on event design.
